Job Description
Developing Melodies is a pediatric therapy and music learning practice. We employ Music Therapists, Developmental Therapists and Music Learning Facilitators. We are seeking a dedicated, licensed and creative Music Therapist to provide therapy and learning opportunities in both educational and community settings. This position focuses on working with children and adolescents through both therapeutic music interventions and individualized music instruction. This opportunity is based in Bloomington- Normal, Illinois and is a part-time position . A Board Certified and Licensed Music Therapist is required for this position. This person is collaborative and person-centered in their approach to working with pediatrics (birth to 21) and with a wide range of abilities, both in our clinic setting and with our growing community program partnerships. We are looking for someone who exudes warmth, has solid and diverse musicianship on voice, guitar and piano and brings creativity and humanity to the session space. Must be a self-starter, organized and ready to grow with our team. This position requires availability on at least two afternoons and early evenings (3-7pm) each week. Additional hours during the school day will also be available. More details to those who are hired.
- A specific contract is on Tuesday evenings
- Tasks include music therapy groups, music lessons, adapted music lessons, individual music therapy sessions and school-based services including evaluations, groups and individual services. Reliable transportation is required for this position. What you may get to do!
- Facilitate all aspects of delivering exceptional music services to a mixed caseload of clinic and community-based individuals and groups.
- Contribute significantly to the growth and development of our company, including marketing (social media), networking and sales efforts.
- Collaborate well with team members and treatment teams in program planning and service delivery.
- Be creative with your service delivery and intervention creation to fit the needs of our patients/consumers, your growth and the needs of our contracts.
