Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Itinerant Music Therapist to provide specialized therapeutic support within school settings. This contract position focuses on delivering music therapy services on a part-time basis, helping students achieve emotional, cognitive, and social development goals through music.

Immediate start through June 5, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and group music therapy sessions to support students' educational and therapeutic needs Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate music therapy into individualized education plans (IEPs) Assess student progress and maintain documentation in accordance with school protocols Adapt therapeutic interventions to meet diverse student needs and developmental levels Travel to various school sites within the district as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Maryland Music Therapy licensure or certification Proven experience working in educational environments, particularly with school-aged children Strong knowledge of music therapy techniques and their application in school settings Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Flexibility to work itinerantly across multiple school locations Benefits of this role include the opportunity to make a positive impact on student wellbeing and development using music therapy, as well as working within a supportive educational environment.
