The Music Therapist will support the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral goals for each individual. The Music Therapist will work in collaboration with Audio Engineers in a studio setting to help clients meet their goals while providing an opportunity to have their music recorded and shared with others, should the client so choose. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment through music.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, plan, and implement music therapy sessions tailored to the goals and needs of clients. Use music interventions to promote emotional expression, physical rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and social engagement. Collaborate with Audio Engineers, clients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams. Provide both individual and group music therapy sessions that incorporate a variety of techniques, based on individual clients' clinical needs. Document client progress following each session and prepare reports as needed. Educate staff, families, and the community about the benefits of music therapy. Stay current with research and best practices in the field of music therapy to ensure high quality, evidence-based practice. Some evening events and one 3 hour group session a month may be required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's, Equivalency, or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an approved AMTA university or college. Current Board Certification (MT-BC) issued by the Certification Board for Music Therapists required Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for travel to client locations.
Benefits:
Starting salary ranges from $50,000 - $65,000 based on experience and employment status. CBMT Annual Maintenance Fee covered Continuing Education Stipend and 401k available Health Benefits available for full-time employees
