Job Description

Company Overview Kat's Yoga Lab specializes in providing authentic, innovative therapy services that promote health and vitality. We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and healthy community by offering accessible programs that address mental health. The Role We are seeking a board-certified music therapist to join our contractor network and provide group music therapy sessions within inpatient behavioral health settings. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with flexible scheduling. Responsibilities Facilitate evidence-based individual and group music therapy sessions for adult and adolescent psychiatric inpatients Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support patient goals Document session notes per facility requirements in a timely manner Adapt programming to varying acuity levels and diverse patient populations Uphold professional, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive practice standards Represent Axthera with professionalism at all times on-site Requirements Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential — required Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric settings Reliable transportation to Houston-area hospital facilities Current CPR/BLS certification Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings Strong communication and documentation skills Independent, self-motivated, and dependable Preferred Experience working with acute psychiatric populations Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) Compensation & Schedule Competitive per-session / hourly 1099 contractor rate (commensurate with experience) Flexible scheduling — part-time and full-time availability considered Opportunity for consistent, ongoing contract hours across multiple facilities

$35.00 per hour
