Job Description

Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting student growth by providing music therapy in a dynamic campus environment. This full-time, on-site position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and focuses on delivering high-impact therapy services at Bright Futures Academy. You'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and administrators to foster positive outcomes for students, particularly those with disabilities or developmental differences.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
National Certification in Music Therapy required Expertise in school-based therapy, ideally as a music or art therapist Strong knowledge of adaptive equipment, assessment protocols, and IEP documentation Experience working with students with autism and a range of developmental disabilities Excellent communication, consultation, and organizational skills Ability to provide effective staff development and parent consultation Comfort with case management, compliance, and reporting Commitment to professional growth and participation in required trainings Flexibility to respond to the evolving needs of students and school programs Willingness to complete district fingerprinting and credentialing
Responsibilities:
Deliver individual and group music therapy services tailored to students' unique goals Assess student needs; guide IEP goal development, progress monitoring, and placement Collaborate in ARD Committee meetings to support data-driven decision making Mentor and consult with staff and parents, leading school-based staff development as needed Foster a positive, structured environment conducive to participation and achievement Administer adaptive equipment to students and support team members Maintain exemplary records in compliance with all district and legal requirements Participate in ongoing program evaluation, planning, and improvement efforts Regular attendance and engagement in professional development activities Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor Bring your music therapy expertise to a role where you'll make a lasting impact on students' lives. to help shape a supportive, creative, and inclusive learning journey for every student!
