Nuclear Medicine Tech-Certify
Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center • Nuclear Medicine 043
Anniston, AL

full-time, days, 7:30a-4pm/every other weekend
Req # 15423
Weekends?: Yes
Operates nuclear detection and imaging equipment and prepares for nuclear radiological studies by following professional and departmental protocols to provide the Radiologists diagnostic images to identify and/or plan appropriate treatment for the patient's condition.
Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
Responsible for the safe handling of equipment.
Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of change in patient's condition during exam.
Assesses patient's understanding of process and procedure.
Selects appropriate equipment for procedure.
Determine most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
Use QA steps to ensure correct name and other patient information on each film of study.
Technologist charges accurately, through the computer system, each exam at the completion of the test.
Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
Completion of an accredited training course in Nuclear Medicine techniques.
Prefer one year experience, or on-the-job training.
ARRT certified or CNMT-eligible.
Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment.
Good communication skills.
Adheres to standards for radiation safety.
