Thursday, Friday, and Sunday Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital travel role, you will perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. Your expertise will contribute to accurate, high-quality imaging that supports effective patient care. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing medical imaging practices through technical proficiency and compassionate patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities Radiopharmaceutical Care:
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
Equipment Operation:
Operate specialized medical equipment such as PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanners, DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans, and other nuclear medicine devices.
Diagnostic Evaluations:
Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess physiological functions and anatomical structures.
Documentation:
Ensure accurate documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR), maintaining detailed records of procedures, doses, and patient information.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results, utilizing picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) for image storage and review.
Maintenance & Safety:
Maintain all medical equipment operation standards, performing routine calibration. Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and oneself.
Patient Care:
Assist with patient positioning, IV insertion when necessary, and provide clear instructions to ensure comfort and compliance during imaging sessions.
Job Requirements Certification:
Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from an accredited program (e.g., NMTCB or ARRT).
Licensure:
Active state licensure in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain.
Experience:
Proven experience operating nuclear medicine equipment including PET scanners, DEXA scanners, and related diagnostic tools.
Clinical Skills:
Skilled in IV insertion with a focus on aseptic technique. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in medical imaging software systems such as PACS and EMR/EHR platforms.
