1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with NMTCB or ARRT (nuclear medicine) certification for a 13-week contract in Elizabethtown, KY. Details Nuclear Medicine department in an acute care hospital setting Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week 36 hours per week Requirements Active Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy license (license required if applicable) Current BLS and ACLS certification Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia, Arrhythmia, or ECG course Certification by the NMTCB or ARRT in nuclear medicine Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT- or JRCNMT-accredited institution, or graduation from a military Nuclear Medicine Program Proficiency in operating gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques Commitment to radiation safety practices and compliance with regulatory standards MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration License verification required if applicable Additional Information Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed protocols, ensuring proper dosage and injection technique Operate gamma cameras and other specialized imaging equipment to capture and analyze nuclear medicine images Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate records of radiation doses administered Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed Maintain detailed procedural records and generate accurate reports for inclusion in patient medical records Participate in staff orientation and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field is preferred
