We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear/PET Department. This role is central to the delivery of high-quality cardiac imaging, including SPECT and PET studies, and plays a key part in maintaining the safety, compliance, and efficiency of our nuclear medicine program. Position Overview The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, acquisition and processing of cardiac imaging studies, and performance of stress testing procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a commitment to regulatory compliance, and a genuine dedication to patient care. Key Responsibilities Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacologic stress agents Perform IV insertion and patient preparation for nuclear and PET studies Acquire, process, and archive gated MPI-SPECT/PET and planar imaging studies Assist with exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, including patient monitoring Perform hot lab duties including receipt, storage, quality control, and disposal of radioactive materials Maintain and perform quality control on gamma cameras, PET scanner, and related equipment Participate in Cardiogen PET generator duties, including exchange and return Maintain accurate records in compliance with NJDEP, FDA, FAA, HIPAA, and IAC standards Collaborate with scheduling and front desk staff to ensure proper patient prep and workflow Assist with billing of nuclear and PET studies and maintenance of patient stats logs Support training of new technologists, nurses, and clinical staff as needed Perform other duties as directed by the Medical and Technical Director Required Skills & Qualifications NMTCB or ARRT certification required (CNMT, ARRT(N), or NCT) Active NJ State Nuclear Medicine license required BLS certification required 3 to 5 years of clinical nuclear medicine experience, with at least one year in nuclear cardiology; or a minimum of one year of dedicated nuclear cardiology experience IV placement skills required Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with GEMMS a plus Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment Additional Information This position supports a high-volume Nuclear/PET program operating under multiple regulatory and accreditation frameworks. The technologist in this role is expected to maintain current licensure and certifications, participate in ongoing training requirements, and adapt to operational needs as they evolve. Flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential to success in this role.
Pay:
$45.00 - $55.00 per hour
