Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide advanced imaging services across multiple healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, including PET scans and DEXA scans, with a focus on delivering precise diagnostic evaluations. As a Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will operate sophisticated imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain the highest standards of clinical practice in diverse environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise while exploring different healthcare settings and expanding your professional experience. Responsibilities Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including PET scans, DEXA scans for bone density assessment, and other diagnostic imaging techniques. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Operate advanced medical imaging equipment with precision to produce high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Educate patients about procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the process. Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to interpret imaging results and support diagnostic evaluation efforts. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and equipment calibration records. Follow all safety guidelines related to radiation exposure, infection control, and patient confidentiality. Adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining consistency in quality standards. Requirements New York State licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from an accredited program; registration with relevant professional bodies is preferred. Proven experience performing PET scans, DEXA scans, and general nuclear medicine procedures. Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to accurately perform diagnostic evaluations. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to nuclear medicine and medical imaging practices. Ability to operate complex imaging equipment efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent understanding of medical imaging principles, radiation safety protocols, and diagnostic procedures. Flexibility to travel between multiple healthcare facilities as required; valid driver's license is advantageous.
