Job Description

UPMC offers a sign on bonus of $6,000 with a 2-year commitment. In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations. This position will work from 7:30 to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday with call and holiday coverage.
Responsibilities:
Performs all responsibilities of Level II Advanced Nuclear Medicine tech including Maintains proper records of radiopharmaceuticals and calculates, measures and records patient dose. Performs all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment. Properly identifies all patients and provides instructions for exams. Competently performs all nuclear medicine exams and codes and tracks exams in RIS. Interact with patients and co-workers by displaying the values of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Leads orientation and education for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary. Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to department leadership. Collaborates with research projects as needed. Coordinate daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs. Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews. Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
