$2,600.00 - $2,606.00 / Weekly Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in nuclear medicine procedures, patient care, and medical imaging technology. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating advanced imaging equipment, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout diagnostic procedures. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to accurate diagnostic evaluations and improve patient outcomes through precise imaging techniques. Responsibilities Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals for various nuclear medicine procedures, including DEXA scans, PET scans, and SPECT imaging. Operate sophisticated imaging equipment such as PET scanners, SPECT scanners, CT machines, and other diagnostic radiology devices with technical proficiency. Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety procedures and implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff. Perform patient care activities, including positioning patients accurately for imaging procedures and providing clear instructions to ensure optimal image quality. Maintain detailed records of procedures within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Conduct diagnostic evaluations by analyzing images for quality assurance and collaborating with physicians on interpretation. Follow aseptic techniques during invasive procedures such as IV insertion to prevent infections or complications. Operate Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing, retrieving, and sharing medical images efficiently. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to enhance diagnostic accuracy across various imaging modalities. Maintain equipment calibration, perform routine quality control checks, and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to ensure continuous operation. Skills Proficiency in operating medical imaging equipment including PET scanners, SPECT scanners, CT machines, and related devices. Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology practices. Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection measures effectively. Experience with DEXA scans for bone density assessment and familiarity with other specialized imaging techniques. Ability to perform IV insertions skillfully while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored to diverse patient populations. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and reporting purposes. Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes essential for accurate image interpretation. Demonstrated technical proficiency in handling complex medical equipment operation and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
