Job Description

Description This contract position offers a unique opportunity for qualified individuals to work on-site in a vibrant medical practice environment. As a crucial part of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our mission of excellence in medical practices. In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of patients undergoing anesthesia. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest standards of patient care while enhancing the efficiency of our medical practice. Responsibilities Administer anesthesia and monitor patient vital signs during procedures Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments for patients Maintain accurate and detailed patient records Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and risks Respond promptly to any patient emergencies or complications Participate in quality improvement initiatives in the department Stay updated on the latest medical practices and guidelines in anesthesia Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Coverage Dates:
  • Late September for a duration of three months, with the option for extension as necessary.
  • Setting:
  • Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Daily Responsibilities:
  • The role encompasses a range of procedures including General, Orthopedic, Urological, Gynecological, Gastrointestinal, Head and Neck, Thoracic, Neurological, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), and Obstetric anesthesia.
The provider will work exclusively with adult patients, with no cardiac cases anticipated and no expected pediatric patients. While obstetric experience is not mandatory, it is highly preferred, as the permanent providers are required to have such experience.
  • Shifts/Schedule Expectations:
  • The expected schedule will consist of a combination of shifts from Monday to Sunday, including eight-hour and ten-hour shifts, with twelve-hour shifts specifically allocated for obstetrics. A commitment of one to two weekends per month is preferred, along with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate days off during the week.
  • Call Schedule/Responsibilities:
  • There will be no on-call responsibilities.
  • Patient Volume/Census:
  • The patient volume is estimated to be variable, contingent upon room assignments.
  • Number of Providers Per Shift & Support Staff:
  • The staffing model includes a ratio of one CRNA to three MD supervisors.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
System:
  • EPIC.
  • Required Certifications:
  • The following certifications are required or accepted: Board Certification as a CRNA, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
While the client may consider candidates without a PALS certification, it is preferred that applicants possess it, despite the likelihood of infrequent encounters with pediatric patients.
