$240,000 Position Overview Bedford Surgery Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our surgical team. The CRNA will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent airway-management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the perioperative team. This position requires a patient-centered professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete pre-anesthesia evaluations, including reviewing medical histories, medications, allergies, laboratory results, previous anesthesia experiences, and relevant diagnostic information. Assess each patient's physical condition and anesthesia risk before surgery. Develop and implement an individualized anesthesia plan based on the patient's condition and planned procedure. Explain the anesthesia process to patients and answer questions before their procedures. Obtain or verify required anesthesia consents and documentation. Prepare and administer general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, sedation, regional anesthesia, and other anesthesia-related services within the CRNA's authorized scope of practice and facility privileges. Select and administer anesthetic medications, fluids, blood products, and other medications as clinically appropriate. Manage patient airways using appropriate equipment and techniques. Continuously monitor oxygenation, ventilation, circulation, temperature, level of consciousness, and other physiological functions throughout the procedure. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in a patient's condition, anesthesia complications, or medical emergencies. Provide emergency airway management, cardiovascular support, and resuscitative care when necessary. Manage emergence from anesthesia and safely transfer patients to the post-anesthesia care unit. Provide post-anesthesia evaluations, pain-management recommendations, and postoperative instructions as appropriate. Communicate relevant clinical information to PACU nurses and other members of the patient-care team. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete anesthesia records. Ensure anesthesia medications, controlled substances, equipment, machines, and supplies are properly maintained, secured, and documented. Participate in medication reconciliation, controlled-substance accountability, and anesthesia inventory processes. Follow Bedford Surgery Center's policies regarding infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and emergency preparedness. Participate in quality-assurance, performance-improvement, peer-review, credentialing, and compliance activities. Assist with the development and review of anesthesia-related policies, protocols, and emergency procedures. Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, professional standards, and facility accreditation requirements. Collaborate professionally with surgeons, physicians, nurses, administrators, and other healthcare professionals. Perform other anesthesia-related duties within the CRNA's education, certification, clinical privileges, and authorized scope of practice. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nurse-anesthesia educational program. Current certification or recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license or multistate privilege recognized in Texas. Current authorization to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Texas in the nurse-anesthetist role. Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Current PALS certification or willingness to obtain it if pediatric patients will be treated. Eligible for credentialing and clinical privileges at Bedford Surgery Center. Strong knowledge of anesthesia medications, techniques, equipment, airway management, and emergency response. Ability to safely lift, position, and assist with the movement of patients and clinical equipment. Excellent clinical-assessment, communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications At least two years of experience practicing as a CRNA. Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient surgical environment. Experience providing anesthesia for multiple surgical specialties. Experience with general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, regional techniques, and postoperative pain management. Familiarity with quality-improvement and accreditation standards applicable to ambulatory surgery centers. Compensation Bedford Surgery Center offers an annual salary of $240,000 .
