Job Description

Arkansas Lung Center is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner to primarily provide care at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will serve as an integral member of the inpatient rehabilitation team, managing the medical needs of patients recovering from serious illness, injury, and complex medical conditions. Responsibilities include caring for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injuries, while collaborating closely with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal recovery and rehabilitation outcomes. In addition to the primary inpatient rehabilitation responsibilities, this position will provide coverage in our outpatient pulmonary clinics as needed, evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. This unique opportunity offers a diverse clinical practice that combines inpatient rehabilitative medicine with outpatient pulmonary care, allowing the Nurse Practitioner to impact patient health across multiple care settings. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, adaptable, and committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position is located in Fort Smith, AR. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, providing appropriate treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and disease prevention. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Adhere to aseptic techniques in all procedures to ensure patient safety. Requirements Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Valid state nursing license with the ability to practice as an FNP. Experience in primary care is preferred; familiarity with pulmonology is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
