Schedule:
(Three 10's, Mon-Wed, Tues-Thurs, or Fri-Sun) Position Summary The Part-Time Dual-Certified Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing medical oversight for patients receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment. Working closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, case managers, and behavioral health staff, the Nurse Practitioner will help develop individualized treatment plans that promote stabilization and recovery. The ideal candidate is comfortable treating a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses while maintaining strong clinical documentation and evidence-based prescribing practices. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluations upon admission Diagnose and treat a variety of primary mental health disorders Perform medication evaluations and ongoing medication management Monitor treatment response and adjust medications as clinically indicated Complete psychiatric follow-up visits throughout the patient's stay Collaborate with psychiatrists and the multidisciplinary treatment team Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations Order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing Address medical concerns that may impact psychiatric treatment Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant electronic medical documentation Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations Ensure compliance with Arkansas regulations, DEA requirements, and facility policies Support quality improvement initiatives and best clinical practices Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of psychiatric care QualificationsRequired Active Arkansas Nurse Practitioner license in good standing Dual certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority Active BLS certification Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team Preferred Previous inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience Experience treating adults with acute psychiatric disorders Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems Experience working with crisis stabilization and serious mental illness populations
