Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing GI practice. The NP will provide comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and collaboration with gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, hepatitis, pancreatitis, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies. Perform follow-up evaluations and monitor patient progress. Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure care for endoscopic procedures. Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, medications, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
