Nurse Practitioner - Washington Health University of California San Francisco - 4.1 Fremont, CA Job Details Full-time 6 hours ago Qualifications Medicare RN License BLS Certification Nurse Practitioner (NP) DEA License Advanced practice provider Medicaid Medical payer enrollment Full Job Description This Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to the Washington Health Cancer Center. In collaboration with the supervising physician and the administrative supervisor, the NP provides comprehensive care to patients with cancer who are receiving active treatment, patients in cancer survivorship, and patients with benign hematologic conditions. The NP delivers evidence-based clinical care, including assessment and management of treatment-related toxicities, oncologic emergencies, symptom management, survivorship care, and benign hematologic disorders. Responsibilities also include patient education, care coordination, triage, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning in collaboration with the oncology team, and other duties as assigned to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is an accredited National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The NCI-Designation recognizes the scientific leadership, resources, and the depth and breadth of the research in basic, clinical, and population science. As a Comprehensive Cancer Center, we demonstrate the added depth and breadth of research as well as substantial transdisciplinary research that bridges these scientific areas. The clinical services encompass adult and pediatric tumors across three campuses as well as regional satellite locations. The clinical cancer program is one of the largest clinical services at UCSF Medical Center and encompasses roughly 230 non-physician FTEs, 100+ cost centers, and dozens of grant and philanthropic funding sources. At the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, we are truly pioneering care and leaders in all areas of cancer clinical care and research. We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 programs by U.S. News and World Report.
Minimum License/Certification:
1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction 2. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction 3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges 4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC) . See Addendum A below for more detail. 5. California Driver License (if required for position) 6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address 7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 8.

None Minimum Education/ Experience:
(This will be included in the job posting. Experience must be measurable such as number of years of NP experience. Do not include soft skills like familiar with EPIC or MS Office.) Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Nurse Practitioner 2 (at least six (6) months of NP experience): 1. Minimum 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a medical oncology setting or completion of a one-year comprehensive oncology APP fellowship program Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 2. Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients 3. Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role 4. Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by health care providers and team members 5. Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider 6. Submit health plan (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial for all APPs; also, CCS for pediatric providers) enrollment by first clinical day 7. At all times, must adhere to the UCSF Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Code of Conduct, PRIDE values, and applicable medical center/campus/departmental policies and procedures 8. At all times, must adhere to all UCSF policies regarding HIPPA, privacy, communication, documentation, encounter closure, and billing 9. Mandatory attendance at the Office of Advanced Practice Providers Orientation Sessions 10. Mandatory attendance at the APP Onboarding Committee APP Onboarding Series 11. This position requires flexibility for the APP to work at all UCSF Health facilities/locations 12. Performs other duties as assigned
