Job Description

Structural Heart Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Position Summary The Structural Heart APP provides specialized clinical care to patients with complex valvular and structural heart disease. Working collaboratively with interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and the multidisciplinary heart team, the APP supports evaluation, procedural coordination, and longitudinal care for patients undergoing structural heart interventions such as TAVR, M-TEER, T-TEER, LAAC, and other transcatheter therapies. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Perform comprehensive history and physical exams for structural heart patients Evaluate and manage patients with valvular heart disease, including aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, and tricuspid disease Provide pre-procedural, inpatient, and post-procedural care Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., echocardiograms, CT scans, labs) Procedural Support Assist with patient selection and workup for procedures such as TAVR, M-TEER, T-TEER, and LAAO Provide peri-procedural management and follow-up care Care Coordination Coordinate multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case reviews Facilitate patient flow from referral through procedure and follow-up Serve as a liaison between referring providers, patients, and the structural heart team Patient Education Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-procedure care Provide counseling on medications, lifestyle, and recovery expectations Quality & Program Development Support registry participation (e.g., TVT Registry) and quality initiatives Participate in performance improvement and outcomes tracking Assist in program growth and outreach efforts Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Active California NP or PA license Board certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) DEA license (if applicable)
BLS/ACLS
certification
Experience Preferred:
2+ years of cardiology experience Strongly preferred: experience in structural heart, interventional cardiology, or cardiothoracic surgery Skills & Competencies Strong clinical judgment in complex cardiac patients Excellent communication and patient education skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment High level of organization and care coordination ability
Pay:
$186,000.00 - $228,000.00 per year
