Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across a variety of clinical settings, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional medical services. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes, support clinical research initiatives, and enhance the overall quality of care. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physiological evaluations. Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations, DEA guidelines, and collaborative practice agreements. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and sterile processing when necessary. Manage acute and chronic conditions across diverse specialties including emergency medicine, critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and hospice & palliative medicine. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation, order entry, and medical records management. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate patient care plans and discharge planning. Participate in clinical research projects and utilize diagnostic evaluation tools like sonography and laboratory testing to inform treatment decisions. Skills Extensive experience working with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Proficiency in specialized procedures such as botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, spinal taps, gastrostomy tube feeding, and laser treatments for esthetic purposes. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma center settings; hospital medicine or emergency room experience preferred. Skilled in patient assessment for diverse populations including pediatrics (toddler care), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), and individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities. Capable of performing triage in urgent care or outpatient environments; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control protocols, infectious disease care, occupational health standards, and infection management practices. Ability to perform invasive procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheter care, and airway management, including ventilator support. Experience working within collaborative practice models under supervision agreements; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is advantageous. Excellent client communication skills; adept at health coaching and patient education on medication administration and lifestyle modifications. $64,877.21 - $78,131.69 per year
