Job Description

Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry (Reproductive Health) Newport Beach, CA Description Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team in Newport Beach/Irvine, CA. This role involves providing comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric services to maternal health patients (pregnant and post partum) and young adults with acute and chronic mental health conditions. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with families and a interdisciplinary medical team to deliver individualized, family-centered care, contributing to the hospital's mission of healing humanity, one child and family at a time.

      Hybrid. Many of the encounters can be performed virtually. Will require some in-person attendance in the clinic

          Patients:
          Reproductive health (pregnant and post partum patients only)
            EMR:
            Epic Responsibilities
            • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric services
            • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developmental histories, mental status examinations, and risk assessments for pediatric patients
            • Formulate clinical diagnoses
            • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and institutional protocols
            • Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to specialty, according to written standardized procedures
            • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients
            • Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient
            • Administer, order, furnish and prescribe medications

            Qualifications:
            • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP)
            • Current California NP Medical License
            • DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (CSRC)
            • Current BLS certification
            • Current ACLS certification
            • Certification in Psychiatry
