Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Mobile Wound Care Ventura Wound Care is a growing, physician-led mobile wound care practice serving patients throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties . We provide advanced wound care directly to patients in their homes, assisted living communities, board and care facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and clinically strong Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. This is currently a part-time/PRN position with the opportunity to grow as our patient census expands. Position Summary The PA/NP will independently evaluate and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex wounds while collaborating closely with our physician, clinical team, home health agencies, facilities, and other healthcare providers. This position is ideal for a provider who enjoys autonomy, working with older and medically complex patients, and following patients over time to achieve measurable improvements in wound healing. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including wound etiology, size, depth, tissue characteristics, drainage, and signs of infection Develop and update individualized wound care treatment plans Perform sharp/excisional debridement and other appropriate bedside wound procedures Select appropriate dressings, compression, offloading, and other wound care interventions Evaluate patients for advanced wound care therapies when clinically appropriate Participate in advanced treatments such as cellular/tissue-based products, negative pressure wound therapy, ultrasonic wound therapy, and other advanced modalities Order cultures, laboratory testing, imaging, vascular studies, and specialist referrals when indicated Identify infection, vascular compromise, or other complications requiring escalation of care Educate patients and caregivers regarding wound care, pressure prevention, infection prevention, nutrition, and factors affecting healing Coordinate care with home health agencies, facility staff, physicians, specialists, patients, and caregivers Complete accurate and timely EHR documentation, wound measurements, photographs, treatment orders, and procedure documentation Maintain appropriate HIPAA, Medicare, and clinical documentation standards Qualifications Current and unrestricted California NP or PA license Appropriate prescribing authority and credentials Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a mobile setting Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Comfortable caring for older adults and medically complex patients Wound care experience is strongly preferred , particularly experience with chronic wounds and sharp debridement. Experience in home health, skilled nursing, geriatrics, vascular care, podiatry, surgery, dermatology, or post-acute care is also highly valued. Experience with advanced wound care products, compression therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, cellular/tissue-based products, and Medicare wound care documentation is a plus. Wound care certification is preferred but not required. Schedule & Compensation Part-time/PRN with opportunity to grow Consistent weekly availability preferred Mobile visits throughout Ventura County, with additional opportunities in Santa Barbara County Competitive per-patient compensation Additional compensation for certain advanced procedures and therapies Mileage reimbursement for qualifying travel Additional compensation available for specialized training and courses leading to wound care certification As our practice continues to grow, there is potential for increased patient volume, hours, and responsibility. What We're Looking For We are a small, collaborative practice and are looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of their patient care . The right provider communicates well, follows through on documentation and orders, and enjoys working independently while still being part of a supportive clinical team. Pay:
$120.00 - $220.00 per hour
