Nurse Practitioner (Infusion Therapy) Durango Infusion Center | Durango, Colorado Durango Infusion Center is one of the Four Corners' premier outpatient infusion centers, providing advanced biologic and specialty infusion therapies in a modern, patient-centered environment. We partner with specialists throughout Colorado and New Mexico to deliver expert infusion care close to home—allowing patients to avoid traveling hours for life-changing treatments. As our referral network and patient volume continue to grow, we are seeking an outstanding Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role begins as a part-time position with a clear opportunity to grow into a full-time career as our practice expands. Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner serves as a key clinical leader within our infusion center, providing oversight for specialty infusion therapies while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. This position works collaboratively with referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and our Medical Director to coordinate individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and deliver exceptional infusion care in an outpatient setting. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments before infusion therapy
  • Review physician orders for completeness and clinical appropriateness
  • Evaluate laboratory studies and diagnostic results
  • Verify treatment plans and infusion eligibility
  • Place peripheral IV lines as needed
  • Administer and supervise specialty infusion therapies and injectable medications
  • Monitor patients during treatment and manage infusion reactions when necessary
  • Educate patients regarding medications, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
  • Collaborate with referring providers regarding treatment plans
  • Assist with prior authorization clinical documentation when needed
  • Ensure compliance with evidence-based infusion protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to promote exceptional patient care and safety
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation standards
  • Assist leadership with clinical workflow development and ongoing process improvement Qualifications Required
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license
  • Active Colorado APRN licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA registration (if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong IV assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team Preferred
  • Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Infusion, oncology, rheumatology, neurology, gastroenterology, immunology, emergency medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine experience
  • Experience administering biologics and specialty medications
  • Familiarity with infusion reactions and emergency management
  • Experience with electronic medical records
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
Competitive based upon experience ($45.00/hr. - $65.00/hr.) Additional benefits may include:
