Summary:
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides patient assessment and diagnosis, performs simple office procedures, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, orders laboratory tests, and provides patient education, while maintaining safety standards and delivering consistent quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Physician Assistant degree or Masters of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Must be actively licensed in the state of Colorado as a PA-C or NP and registered with
DORA. DEA
required. Malpractice insurance required. Must have 2+ years experience, psychiatric and/or substance abuse/detox experience preferred. BLS certification required. Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with physicians, staff, clients, and families. Ability to be compassionate to those needing and receiving services. Clinical charting and documentation according to JCAHO and BHA standards. Impeccable ethics, integrity, and patient relations skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills. Sound medical judgment and decision making skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Proficient with Google Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's EMR system.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct client care via health services, education, counseling, and emotional support with compassion. Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests. Diagnose conditions. Prescribe treatments, including medication and simple office procedures. Educate clients and their families. Consult other physicians as appropriate. Ensure that all client care is delivered in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information. Complete detox admission/discharge summary and RTC/PHP discharge summary as indicated by level of care. Ensure compliance with JCAHO, local, state, and federal policies and regulations, including accurate recordkeeping.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working/typing on a computer. Climbing stairs, walking, bending, reaching, sitting, standing, using hands, see, talk, hear. Exposure to a medical and clinical environment. Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
