Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Gastroenterology About Us Athens Gastroenterology Center is a small, patient-focused practice dedicated to providing high-quality digestive healthcare. We prioritize a collaborative work environment where providers have a support system and the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care. Job Description We are seeking a skilled, motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our physician to provide comprehensive care in a gastroenterology practice, including supporting the on-call physician as needed. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical exams Diagnose and treat digestive disorders under physician guidance Order and interpret diagnostic tests Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications Assist in pre- and post-procedure patient management Provide support for the on-call physician, helping to coordinate patient care Collaborate with our physician, nurses, and support staff to ensure high-quality care Qualifications Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in Georgia Board certification as a PA or NP (PA-C, FNP, AGNP or ACNP preferred) At least 2+ years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA preferred) or 5+ years experience as a Registered Nurse (hospital based) Experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or primary care (preferred, but not required) Strong communication and patient education skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Comfortable with computers; EMR knowledge preferred Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid Time Off with flexible scheduling 401k Retirement benefits Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance Malpractice coverage Insurance benefits How to Apply Please provide a cover letter, resume, and four (4) professional references.
