Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. In this vital role, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, utilizing your advanced clinical expertise to improve health outcomes. Your energetic approach will help foster a positive environment for patients of all ages, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and specialized populations such as those in assisted living or hospice care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through comprehensive patient care, innovative treatment modalities, and active participation in clinical research initiatives. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans. Prescribe medications and treatment regimens in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including critical care, gastroenterology, behavioral health, and pain management. Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, dermal fillers, and laser treatments to enhance patient outcomes. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and medical records management. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice in the state of employment. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/trauma centers, or outpatient clinics. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory specimen processing. Skilled in performing advanced procedures like tube feeding management, ventilator support, cardiac catheterization prep, and sterile techniques such as phlebotomy and aseptic technique. Experience working with special populations such as pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine or individuals with developmental disabilities. Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is a plus. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure; acute pain management expertise is preferred.
