This role offers a balanced schedule and a collaborative team based environment focused on high-quality patient care. The NP will perform diagnostic evaluations, manage medications, and provide supportive psychotherapy while ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards. This position is in person. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are preferred but not required. Prior psychiatry experience a preferred but not required. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting, including history, mental status examination, and risk assessment. Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric disorders using DSM-5-TR and ICD-10 criteria. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology, patient/family education, and supportive psychotherapy when appropriate. Provide ongoing medication management, including monitoring efficacy, side effects, and adherence; adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated. Perform suicide and safety risk assessments; triage urgent concerns and coordinate higher levels of care (e.g., ER, inpatient, PHP/IOP) when necessary. Administer and monitor long-acting injectable (LAI) medications and other treatments as indicated. Deliver care via telepsychiatry and in-person visits in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with supervising physician and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication risks/benefits, and safety planning. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and best practices in outpatient psychiatric care. Review prescription monitoring programs (e.g., GA PMP) and follow controlled substance prescribing guidelines when applicable. Qualifications Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with active, unrestricted license in the state of Georgia (or eligibility). Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program. Prior experience in psychiatry or behavioral health preferred (outpatient experience strongly preferred). Willing to train new grad if the right fit with strong work ethic and commitment to learning/clinical growth Experience treating both pediatric and adult populations is highly desirable. Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks) and telehealth platforms. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria, and outpatient psychiatric treatment standards. Ability to independently manage a patient panel with appropriate physician collaboration. Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.
