Do you want to provide meaningful psychiatric care in a setting where relationships, communication, and whole-person understanding truly matter? Metta Vita Health is expanding its collaborative psychiatric care model through a partnership with Pearl Haven , a youth residential facility on Oahu. We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — PMHNP to provide onsite psychiatric care for youth in a structured residential setting. This is a small but high-impact role that may be ideal for a PMHNP seeking meaningful moonlighting or supplemental clinical work. The PMHNP will be part of the MVH team while providing psychiatric services onsite at Pearl Haven, with opportunities to grow over time if desired. Our work is thoughtful, whole-person centered, and grounded in a team-based model of care. What You'll Do Provide psychiatric evaluations, follow-up visits, and medication management for youth in residential care Conduct onsite psychiatric rounds at Pearl Haven, typically every other week or as clinically needed Review updates from the RN, therapists, residential staff, clinical team, and medical team Assess medication response, adherence, side effects, safety concerns, sleep, appetite, mood, anxiety, attention, behavior, and functioning Ask about how youth are doing in the milieu, including peer relationships, staff interactions, therapy engagement, current goals, and daily functioning Make thoughtful treatment recommendations and medication adjustments as clinically indicated Complete AIMS and/or EPS side-effect monitoring when clinically indicated, especially for youth prescribed antipsychotic medications Collaborate clearly and professionally with Pearl Haven and MVH team members Communicate with families/guardians when appropriate and within program workflow Complete timely documentation, care coordination, chart review, and clinically necessary communication during scheduled hours Training and orientation will be provided on MVH and Pearl Haven workflows, documentation expectations, and care coordination processes. Who We're Looking For Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Active Hawaii APRN license, or ability to obtain before start Active PMHNP certification Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain before start Hawaii prescriptive authority and other required prescribing credentials, or ability to obtain before start Experience with adolescents, young adults, residential care, trauma-informed care, or complex psychiatric presentations preferred Familiarity withAIMS/EPS
monitoring and antipsychotic side-effect assessment preferred; training and workflow orientation provided Strong clinical judgment, clear boundaries, and organized communication Curious, reflective, collaborative, and aligned with whole-person, developmentally informed psychiatric care Schedule / Structure Part-time / per diem W-2 role Up to approximately 20 hours/month Typical residential census is approximately 18-24 youth Onsite psychiatric rounding at Pearl Haven, typically every other week or as clinically needed Onsite rounding blocks are typically 5-10 hours , depending on census, acuity, provider availability, and program needs Scheduled hours include youth visits, chart review, medication management follow-up, care coordination, team communication, and documentation Documentation is expected to be completed onsite during the scheduled rounding block Additional administrative time outside the scheduled block should be limited and pre-approved This role may be a strong fit for a PMHNP seeking meaningful supplemental or moonlighting work Compensation $85-$95/hour W-2 , based on experience, Hawaii licensure status, DEA/prescriptive authority status, adolescent or residential psychiatry experience, onsite expectations, and availability.
