  • , part of the Rush University System for Health, invites applications for the position of Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing EP team in downtown Chicago.

  • Join a highly collaborative Electrophysiology program comprised of 6 electrophysiologists and a dedicated team of 4 Advanced Practice Providers supporting a dynamic and expanding service line.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team across multiple practice locations, including Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, South Loop, River North, Oak Brook, and Northwest Indiana.
  • Participate in the continued growth and expansion of the outpatient and inpatient Electrophysiology APP service.
  • Responsibilities:
  • This position is primarily based at Rush's downtown Chicago campus and follows a Monday-Friday four 10-hour shift schedule. No weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities.
  • Management of inpatient electrophysiology patients, including overnight EP admissions and post-procedural care.
  • Care coordination and monitoring for same-day discharge of post-ablation patients.
  • Evaluation and management of device-related admissions and electrophysiology consults.
  • Management of outpatient electrophysiology patients, including hospital follow ups.
  • Collaborate closely with electrophysiologists, cardiology teams, nursing staff, and ancillary support services to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assist with care transitions, patient education, and coordination of follow-up care across the health system.
  • Opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and multidisciplinary cardiovascular care efforts.
  • Qualifications:
  • APRN candidates will require Acute Care Certification.
  • Prior cardiology and/or electrophysiology experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a collaborative academic healthcare environment.

  • Position Requirements:
  • Nurse Practitioner:
  • + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process + Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position + Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) + CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications •
Physician Assistant:
  • + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process + Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program + Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants + CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.

Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Across the system, the APPs are supported by 4 levels of leadership, including 39 Lead APPs, three chief CRNAs, and a Senior Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
