Job Description

Overview Very busy internal medicine physician looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in hospital and nursing homes in Park Ridge area. In this role, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patient health, ensuring comprehensive treatment plans that promote wellness and recovery. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments through physical examinations and detailed medical histories. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs across multiple specialties. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper protocols and safety standards. Perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections with precision and care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes. Provide patient education on disease management, medication usage, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance healthcare practices. Manage triage responsibilities in urgent care or emergency settings to prioritize patient needs effectively. Support telehealth consultations to extend access to quality care for remote or underserved populations. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in relevant specialties such as family medicine or internal medicine. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or nursing homes. Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is a plus. Demonstrated skills in performing procedures like suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and dermal fillers. Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure highly preferred. Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and utilization review processes for accurate documentation and billing. Experience working with vulnerable populations such as pediatric patients, geriatrics, assisted living residents or individuals with disabilities. Familiarity with infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and sterile processing techniques. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
