T his position offers a compressed workweek of four (4) ten hour days. Tuesday - Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This position provides psychiatric medication assessments across the lifespan, prescribes psychotropic medications as allowed under Kansas Statutes and in accordance with best practice and collaborates among a multidisciplinary team. This position reports directly to the SRMHW Clinical Director. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management as per best medical practice across the lifespan. Provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to individuals diagnosed with an Opioid Use Disorder or Alcohol Use Disorder to decrease the risk of overdose and reduce the risk of other adverse effects of substance use. Performs health screenings as appropriate for medication regimen. Consults with other staff regarding psychiatric medication needs of their clients. Completion of timely documentation in accordance with agency documentation standards. Utilize Evidence Based Practices and Trauma-Informed approaches. Gathers client outcome measures as needed for CCBHC, such as PHQ9, AUDIT, etc. Develop psychiatric treatment plans for clients in medication only services. Educating patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, psychiatric medications, and self-care. May serve as a member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team and actively participates in meetings and treatment to meet fidelity requirements. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required Seeks consultation from medical director, as needed. A commitment to interdisciplinary approaches by relating positively and collaborating with colleagues and representatives of other agencies in a cooperative manner. Practices in a client/family centered manner. Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism Familiarity with mental health theory and practice with diagnostic and treatment planning approaches relevant to professional discipline Utilizing the latest research and professional standards to minimize risk and improve patient outcomes. Adhering to legal standards of care, including privacy, informed consent, and professional accountability. Able to achieve and maintain compliance with all necessary Kansas Statutes, Regulations and Acts authorizing APRN practice Job Qualifications Licensed as an APRN in Kansas or eligible for KS licensing; PMHNP Board Certified; DEA license and CPR certified. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in psychiatric services preferred. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) with experience in child and adolescent medication management experience preferred. In good standing and eligible for credentialing with Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance types. Completion of background and drug screening in accordance with SRMHW background check policy. Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions Requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching, or lifting. May require contact with individuals with communicable diseases. Requires the ability to work under high stress conditions for extended periods of time. Ability to hear normal range of voice. Ability to prepare written reports, use telephone equipment, and possess basic computer skills. Normal office environment.
