Job Description

Experience Preferred Physician Assistant Physician Assistants can take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests, and X rays, make diagnoses, treat minor injuries, instruct and counsel patients, and order or carry out therapy. In most states, PAs can also prescribe medicines. Physician Assistants, who work only under the supervision of doctors, are employed in hospitals, clinics, and private offices. In rural areas, PAs may provide most of the medical care, with a physician available only one or two days each week. Must have at least 2 years of Health care experience. Must have bachelor's or master's degree and must be registered with the Louisiana Medical Board. BLS required. ACLS encouraged Experience Preferred Nurse Practitioner Provides direct patient care, discussing patient symptoms and concerns and performing thorough examinations to diagnose their medical problem and prescribe medication or create a treatment plan if necessary. When required, collaborates with physician(s) to treat for more advanced illnesses or injuries. Read, write, and communicate effectively in English. BLS(CPR) Certification required Nurse Practitioner Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Nurse practitioners practicing in the State of Louisiana must work under a collaborative practice agreement with the physician. ACLS Certification preferred Must be able to meet and maintain current MRMC credentialing and privileging requirements. Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds. Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public and professional groups. Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others (internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing), consistently demonstrate positive/proactive customer service attitude. Consistently maintains ethical behaviors exemplary of quality public service and fair standards, inclusively, among all employees and members of the public. Ability to work as an effective team member; function independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative; be flexible to shift priorities; maintain confidentiality; establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships, effectively assist providers; work toward goals and objectives of draft priorities. Ability to receive constructive feedback including evaluation of provider's productivity and practice attributes.
