Job Description
The Plastic Surgery Nurse Practitioner functions as an advanced practice provider working collaboratively with plastic and reconstructive surgeons to provide comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive patient care. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, pre-operative and postoperative management, aesthetic consultations, and coordination of care while maintaining exceptional patient satisfaction and safety. Position Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and histories. Conduct cosmetic and reconstructive surgery consultations and treatment planning. Provide pre-operative evaluations and patient education. Manage post-operative follow-up visits and monitor healing progress. Recognize and address post-surgical complications and coordinate physician intervention when necessary. Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, and scar management. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and practice protocols. Minimum Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license required. Current board certification as a Nurse Practitioner required. Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority required or obtainable upon hire. Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience preferred. Experience in plastic surgery, facial plastics, dermatology, cosmetic medicine, or surgical specialties preferred. Experience with aesthetic consultations, injectable treatments, and post-operative patient management preferred. Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills. Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of SCN'S salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
