Lansing, MI Job Description General Purpose of Job :
Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Hospitalist physicians.
Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process. Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per hospitalist service standards. Assists with development of plan of care. Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies. Performs daily rounds as assigned by Hospitalist physicians. Responds to Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls as assigned. Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status. Job Requirements General Requirements

  • Adheres to policies and procedures designed to avoid, prevent and reduce the spread of communicable diseases. Work Experience
  • 3-5 yrs as a NP/PA acute care hospital experience preferred Education
  • Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
  • RN and current MI License required
  • Certification and licensure as a NP/PA in the State of MI required.
  • Current BCLS.
  • MSN degree preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
  • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
