Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and compassionate approach to improve health outcomes. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered services in outpatient clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and telehealth platforms. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans. Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health. Perform procedures including suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, spinal taps, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments with precision and adherence to sterile techniques. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, and Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Coordinate care through case management, discharge planning, and utilization review to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings. Provide health coaching and education tailored to individual needs, promoting wellness and disease prevention strategies. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practices within the organization. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in Michigan. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or patients with complex medical needs such as dialysis or ICU cases. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of pharmacology for medication administration and pain management protocols. Hands-on experience performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and basic life support certification. Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is preferred. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments including emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
