Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive clinical background, demonstrating expertise across various medical disciplines, including acute and chronic care, behavioral health, geriatrics, and specialized procedures. This role offers an opportunity to provide exceptional patient-centered care in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and telehealth platforms. The Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive assessments, managing complex cases, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans. Perform advanced clinical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler administration with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties including emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, and behavioral health. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and medical records management. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas like gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and occupational health to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to healthcare services while maintaining high standards of patient care. Assist in discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure safe transitions of care. Support medical documentation through CPT coding and ICD coding practices for billing accuracy and regulatory compliance. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Experience Proven clinical experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room settings, ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or similar platforms; telehealth experience is preferred. Extensive background in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and airway management. Experience working with special populations including pediatric patients (pediatrics), geriatric patients (geriatrics), individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-9/10 and CPT for accurate documentation; knowledge of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous. Strong understanding of physiology knowledge for diagnostic evaluation and medication administration across multiple specialties including pain management and psychopharmacology. Prior involvement in outpatient clinics or post-acute care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is beneficial. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or laboratory testing; experience with infection control protocols is essential.
