Works in a physician's office or other healthcare facility, under the direction of a physician. Performs work similar to that of a physician assistant but has different medical training and degree.
We're excited to invite a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our endocrinology team. Experience in endocrinology is preferred but not required; we're glad to provide training for the right candidate. This role calls for a patient-centered approach, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work well within a collaborative team.
Schedule:
4 days per week in our outpatient clinic, plus 1 weekend day per week supporting hospital rounding and documentation alongside Dr. Verma. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments in our outpatient clinic, with a focus on endocrinological conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and metabolic diseases. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for chronic endocrine conditions, including diabetes management, thyroid disease, and osteoporosis, based on clinical guidelines and individual patient needs. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including bloodwork and imaging, to assess and manage endocrine conditions. Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, diet, exercise, medication management, to support endocrine health and prevent complications. Assist Dr. Verma with hospital rounding one day per weekend, including documentation and note-writing for inpatient endocrinology consults. Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with established standards and systems. Stay current with research and treatment approaches in endocrinology to ensure best-practice patient care. Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program, OR Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification from an accredited program. Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ANCC, AANP), and active state licensure. Experience in endocrinology, hospice/palliative care, or emergency medicine preferred but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow in this specialty. Comfort with inpatient documentation workflows, or willingness to learn hospital charting practices. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in endocrinology.
