They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

  • An NP/PA utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills.
They work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Advanced Practice Providers (APP) provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. + The Trauma/Acute Care Surgery department is a team focused, collaborative group that embraces learning while treating a wide variety of patients. + Under current staffing model, the department has 8 Physicians, 11 APP's, and 9 additional staff members. + The ideal candidate will be someone who has a background in Trauma. + Candidate will provide first assist coverage in the Operating Room (OR) for the trauma surgeons. Assisting will rotate through the other APPs in the department. + Anticipated work schedule:10-hour shifts, scheduled on weekends, holidays, and evenings. 12-hour night call rotating amongst the group. Expect 2-3 call shifts/month. + Work is mainly hospital based with minimal clinic. + Prefer candidate with at least 2 years NP/PA experience with a background working in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or General Surgery. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.

  • Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
  • EDUCATION
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in MN Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in MN Current certification in CPR.
