Job Description

A not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and integrated healthcare system in west-central Minnesota is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its Behavioral Medicine Department. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, integrated care environment where behavioral health providers work in the same facility as physicians and other medical professionals. The position offers scheduling flexibility, including the potential for a four-day work week. Compensation is not tied to client contact hours, allowing providers to focus on delivering thoughtful, high-quality care without productivity-based pressure. Position Responsibilities The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will: Complete comprehensive psychiatric assessments Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment as needed Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Deliver compassionate, patient-centered behavioral healthcare Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Minnesota Prescriptive authority or eligibility to obtain it Strong psychiatric assessment and medication management skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care Compensation Base salary of $130k-$165k per year Compensation based on experience and qualifications Potential student loan repayment assistance for qualified candidates Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Life insurance Disability insurance Paid time off Earned Sick and Safe Time Additional voluntary employee-paid benefits 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Pension plan Potential four-day work week Community The position is located in a welcoming west-central Minnesota community near a university campus, offering access to cultural, educational, recreational, and community activities.
