About Dent County Health Center Dent County Health Center is a local public health agency serving Salem and Dent County, Missouri. Our mission is to improve and protect the health of Dent County residents by providing accessible, evidence-based clinical and public health services. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and evidence-based Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful care in a community-focused setting while supporting programs that improve the health of the broader population. Anticipated Patient Mix Acute illness visits: approximately 40% General physicals and preventive examinations: approximately 20% Family planning and reproductive health: approximately 25% Family medicine and ongoing primary care: approximately 15% Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Diagnose and manage commonly encountered acute and primary care conditions Perform general physicals, preventive examinations, and routine follow-up care Provide family planning and reproductive health services Perform basic women's health examinations and specimen collection Insert and remove intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants; training may be provided Order, perform, and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing Prescribe and manage medications and other treatments within the scope of practice Initiate and manage intravenous therapy when clinically appropriate Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prevention, and health management Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes to support billing and reimbursement Collaborate with the medical director, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals Support and advocate for Dent County Health Center programs and public health initiatives Qualifications and Skills Current or eligible Missouri licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or other appropriate nurse practitioner specialty Strong knowledge of commonly encountered acute and primary care conditions Ability to assess patients independently and develop evidence-based treatment plans Competency in ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic testing Experience providing women's health or family planning services preferred Experience with IUD and contraceptive implant insertion and removal preferred, but training is available Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and clinical documentation requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Commitment to compassionate, nonjudgmental, and patient-centered care Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary public health team Compensation and Benefits Dent County Health Center offers a stable salaried position without productivity-based compensation or bonus requirements.
