Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating the needs of the patient. The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively to formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order and interpret results from laboratory tests, provide patient education, prepare medical records and refer patients in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for patients. 2. Responsible for providing emergency services, physician, and psycho-social examinations of their patients if applicable 3. Developing appropriate treatment plan and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluation. 4. Consulting with patients and families having multiple and complex disorders; and working in a collaborative and integrative role with primary healthcare providers. 5. Performing invasive procedures. 6. Educating patients on positive health promoting lifestyle choices and diseases, injury and illness prevention. 7. Perform other duties as assigned.
