A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner provides mental health and nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, medical organic brain disorders or substance abuse problems. Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description

Education:
Masters of Science in Nursing, with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis, from an accredited college or university.
AND Experience:
Three (3) years of experience related to the above describe duties.
AND Licensure:
Must be licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
Pay:
$155,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year Application Question(s): Do you have a collaborating physician Do you have a Dual Certifcation (FNP and PMHNP)?
License/Certification:
Medicaid Provider (Required) Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required) Mississippi License (Required)
