JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in clinic and acute care settings while adhering to established standards and protocols. This position is responsible for providing patient education, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring clinical competence through continuing education. The Nurse Practitioner must demonstrate leadership skills to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and families while ensuring high-quality and cost-efficient patient care. |
  • JOB•FUNCTIONS•| |•| •Patient Care•: • Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the hospital setting according to the scope of practice outlined by the Board of Nursing, approved protocols, and national standards of practice as directed by the physician preceptor.
  • Patient Education:
  • Provides patients and/or family members with education related to the disease process, health, and wellness
  • Serves as a resource for community agencies as appropriate
  • Documentation:
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed
