Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, delivering exceptional patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. In this vital role, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of life for individuals of all ages, including those in primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and specialized medical services. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues. Prescribe medications and treatment plans following clinical guidelines, including the management of acute pain, chronic conditions, and preventive care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal fillers when appropriate. Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists (including gastroenterology, infectious disease, cardiology), nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care. Manage telehealth consultations to extend access to care for remote or underserved populations. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practice. Provide education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation for legal and billing purposes using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Meditech. Assist with discharge planning, case management, triage services, and post-acute care coordination for diverse patient populations including hospice & palliative medicine patients. Qualifications Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your state; eligible for DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances. Proven experience working in various clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; critical care experience preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory testing (e.g., specimen collection/processing). Hands-on experience with advanced procedures like Botox or botulinum toxin treatment is a plus; familiarity with esthetic laser treatments is desirable. Competency in managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious diseases, geriatrics or pediatric populations; experience working with children is advantageous. Proficiency in CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate billing; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is beneficial. Skilled in using EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth technology is preferred. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining excellent client communication skills. Critical thinking skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently; experience in inpatient or outpatient settings is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with sterile processing techniques when performing invasive procedures like venipuncture or tube feeding management.
