Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients across the life span. Your expertise will support individuals across in the outpatient setting ensuring they receive personalized and effective mental health services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through innovative approaches and collaborative care. The provider will be supervising Spravato and TMS services. The hours are 8am-2pm in person Mon-Friday, hours could be increased as patient load expands or the provider can choose to stay part-time. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments utilizing clinical research methods and medical terminology. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, medication administration, and therapy options such as behavioral health interventions. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, fill out paperwork for FMLA, and disability, ensuring adherence to CPT coding standards and HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, complete prior authorizations, make treatment recommendations for internal and external resources. Monitor patient progress through vital signs assessment, medication management, and physical examinations; adjust treatment plans based on physiological knowledge and diagnostic evaluation outcomes. Provide education on mental health conditions, medication administration, nutrition, and health coaching to patients and their families. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems our practice uses Advanced MD Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification and DEA Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric assessment, medication management—including injections—and patient care documentation. Ability to learn an EMR, comfortable with using portal, online resources, faxing, email and cloud services. Knowledge of
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding for diagnoses; CPT coding but this information can be offered during onboarding Strong understanding of physiology knowledge related to mental health conditions; experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, to pediatrics. Excellent communication skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams; ability to handle triage situations confidently.
