Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner to join our independent primary care practice. This position is ideal for a provider who wants to practice high-quality primary care in an environment that supports both excellent patient care and a healthy work/life balance. Our practice is intentionally structured to avoid overpacked schedules and excessive patient volume. Providers are given reasonable appointment schedules with adequate time for patient encounters, clinical decision-making, and documentation. Our goal is to create a sustainable work environment where providers can deliver thoughtful care without routinely taking unfinished charts home at the end of the day. We value quality of care over simply maximizing patient volume. The Nurse Practitioner will provide outpatient primary care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute visits, medication management, follow-up care, and patient education. In-office procedures are limited, with Pap smears being the primary procedure performed. Documentation and clinical workflow are completed using Athenahealth. Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions within the scope of primary care practice.
• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans based on patient needs and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with North Carolina laws, regulations, and scope of practice.
• Manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity, thyroid disorders, and other common primary care conditions.
• Provide preventive care, wellness examinations, routine screenings, and health maintenance.
• Perform women's health examinations, including Pap smears when appropriate.
• Review laboratory results, imaging reports, specialist recommendations, and other clinical information and provide appropriate follow-up.
• Provide medication management, including appropriate monitoring and refill management.
• Educate patients regarding medications, nutrition, disease prevention, lifestyle modification, and chronic disease management.
• Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, pharmacies, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation using Athenahealth.
• Use appropriate ICD-10 and CPT coding to support accurate clinical documentation and billing.

HIPAA, DEA

requirements, practice policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.

• Participate in maintaining a professional, collaborative, and patient-focused clinical environment. Schedule and Work/Life Balance We recognize that provider well-being directly affects the quality of patient care. This position is designed to provide a sustainable clinical schedule and includes:

• Current Nurse Practitioner license or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain one if required for the position.
• Current BLS certification.
• Primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable independently managing common acute and chronic primary care conditions within scope of practice.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff.
• Strong attention to documentation, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Experience with Athenahealth is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
