Mileage only (up to 60 miles round trip) Required Qualifications Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) — active and in good standing Current North Carolina DEA license and state licensure (or ability to obtain promptly) Minimum 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or other high-volume clinical settings Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients (6 months+) Current BLS certification (AHA) Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred; Epic training provided during onboarding Comfort working independently as the sole on-site provider Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional customer service mindset Local candidates preferred (within 60 miles) Core Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive urgent care services to patients ages 6 months and older Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries common in urgent care Perform minor procedures including I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, splinting, and wound care Manage high patient volumes efficiently while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfaction Document all encounters in Epic EMR and adhere to clinic documentation standards Collaborate with Center Manager, Medical Assistants, and Patient Service Associates to optimize patient flow Complete required onboarding, credentialing, and scheduled EMR training (held on set Wednesdays) Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Why Join This Team Competitive weekly pay for locum tenens urgent care providers Hands-on experience in a busy, supportive urgent care environment Epic EMR training provided to support your transition Opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in southeastern North Carolina to be considered for this Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care position in Lumberton, NC.
