Job Description
Description Metropolitan Community Health Services (MCHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that employs a patient centered approach, providing access to high quality, affordable primary care, dental care, and behavioral health preventive and wellness services to people of all ages regardless of their financial or insurance status or the ability to pay in Beaufort, Martin, and Washington counties. We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioners to join our dedicated team of caring and experienced professionals. Duties Include:
Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, and medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patient's condition. Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports and examination results. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary. Coordinated work with nurses, medical assistants, social workers, case managers, pharmacists, behavioral health specialist, and other health care providers. Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, students, specialist, therapists, and other medical staff. Plan, implement, or administer health programs or standards (e.g., Quality Improvement) or communities for prevention or treatment of injury or illness. Participates in educational programs and trainings to promote professional growth and development Requirements Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certification required. Nurse Practitioner must be a graduate of a nurse practitioner education program and have national certification. 2+ years of clinical experience, strong diagnostic skills, ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and others preferred.
