Job Description
Overview This is an role in our new urgent care in Williamston, North Carolina. Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced clinical skills, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing high-quality medical services in a fast-paced environment that values innovation and excellence. Responsibilities Perform detailed physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history reviews, and diagnostic evaluations. Prescribe medications and treatment regimens in accordance with state laws and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring compliance with DEA regulations. Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, behavioral health, and more. Conduct procedures including suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and sterile processing techniques. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and medical records management. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, specialists in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and others to coordinate patient care plans. Participate in telehealth consultations and outpatient clinics to extend access to quality care for diverse patient populations including pediatric to geriatric patients. Engage in clinical research projects or quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practices and patient safety standards. Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication administration, wound care (including tube feeding), and disease management strategies. Experience Proven experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic or EMR/EHR management tools. Demonstrated proficiency in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, and sterile technique. Experience working across multiple environments including hospital medicine, emergency room settings, urgent care centers, nursing homes (including assisted living), home care services, and outpatient clinics. Background in specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including toddler and neonatal care), behavioral health or psychiatry is preferred. Familiarity with CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate billing and documentation. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis processes involving physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Strong client communication skills with the ability to educate patients about their health conditions effectively while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is a plus.
