Diagnoses mental illness, develops treatment plans and prescribes medications. Teaches patient's family about the patient's condition. Works at hospitals with dedicated mental health unit, fully dedicated psychiatric hospital or in independent practice working from nursing homes and physicians' offices.

Job Description

At Compass of Hope, we reject the model of rushed 515 minute medication check-ins. We believe meaningful, high-quality psychiatric care requires time, attention, and a genuine commitment to understanding each patient. We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who is organized, dedicated, and professionalsomeone who prioritizes thoughtful, comprehensive care over quick prescribing. Our ideal candidate takes the time to assess the full picture, ensuring that underlying medical conditions are not contributing to mental health symptoms, and values collaboration as a cornerstone of effective treatment. Must be comfortable in working with children and adults. You will be supported by a strong clinical team, including medical assistants who manages pending prescriptions, prior authorizations, and assists with any additional needs. This structure is intentionally designed so you can focus primarily on seeing patient with quality care.

We are looking for a provider who wants to grow with us and help strengthen our medication management team while contributing to a collaborative, respectful environment where all staff are valued as equals. Active participation in consultation and team-based decision-making is essential to achieving the best outcomes for our clients.

Must be comfortable prescribing medication for both children and adults. Training will be provided for our Spravato/Ketamine clinic. Youwill get direct supervision weekly from our Psychiatrist Medical Director (MD, PhD) and have unlimited access for support and guidance. Flexible scheduling options available.
